⁴ He will oppose and will exalt himself over everything that is called God^(A) or is worshiped, so that he sets himself up in God’s temple, proclaiming himself to be God.^(B)

²⁴ Ezekiel^(A) will be a sign^(B) to you; you will do just as he has done. When this happens, you will know that I am the Sovereign Lord.’

⁹ Then this city will bring me renown,^(A) joy, praise^(B) and honor^(C) before all nations on earth that hear of all the good things I do for it; and they will be in awe and will tremble^(D) at the abundant prosperity and peace I provide for it.’

²⁴ Martha answered, “I know he will rise again in the resurrection^(A) at the last day.”^(B)

²⁰ “We know he is our son,” the parents answered, “and we know he was born blind.

¹⁷ As it is written: “I have made you a father of many nations.”^[a](A) He is our father in the sight of God, in whom he believed—the God who gives life^(B) to the dead and calls^(C) into being things that were not.^(D)
